Passionate About Technology
As the Educational Technology Coordinator for Verona Area High School in Verona, Wisconsin, I am actively involved with developing curriculum and showcasing student and staff work in a variety of ways. Having taught several grad classes on the iLife and the iWork Suite, I have trained teachers on various topics including iPhoto, iMovie, Keynote, Pages, Numbers, iTunes and more. In addition, I have written and received several grants including two innovative grants from our school district. These grants allowed teachers time and training on developing digital content, as well as learning about and developing "Flipped" lessons for their classes! In addition, I have developed instructional videos and have lead staff development sessions on the Google Applications suite, T3 laptop program, iPads, Smartboard and more. My goal is to make technology integration a natural and fun part of the student's learning.
A teacher for 30 years, I enjoy working with the staff, students, parents and community members of the Verona Area School District, helping to integrate technology into the classrooms. In addition, I am a National Board Certified teacher with an MBA degree. I am also an active Discovery STAR Educator, serve as the Events Chair for the Wisconsin DEN Leadership Council, and in 2009 was one of three teachers selected to participate in the Discovery Student Pilot Adventure in China for 15 days. Recently I was selected as one of the five, 2012 Discovery Educator Network (DEN) Gurus, which recognizes “distinguished educators who are thought leaders in the educational community.” In the spring of 2012, I was selected by my peers across the country to serve as one of six to serve on the Discovery Education Network Advisory Board. As a STAR Discovery member, I have been selected to attend summer institutes in Silver Springs, Maryland, Boston, San Diego, Montana and Vermont.
In 2013, I was selected as a Google Certified Teacher Academy. I attended the Google Teacher Academy in Chicago!
